Volunteering

Want to help our community? Become a volunteer!
Why should I volunteer?
New Directions Center, Inc. believes that only a coordinated community effort will bring about the social change needed to end domestic and sexual violence. Volunteers represent a substantial part of our agency and are a key piece of our community efforts to reduce the impact and occurrence of violence.

How does volunteering work?
We differentiate volunteers into the two categories of Level I and Level II:
-
Level I volunteers are individuals interested in helping provide indirect services to clients, administrative duties, cleaning and maintenance of our facilities, and assisting with donations.
-
Level II volunteers are individuals that are interested in provide direct services to clients, such as crisis intervention, safety planning, emotional support, case management, and taking hotline calls. Level II volunteers are required to attend and complete our volunteer training. Training includes assessment of your skills and shadowing our staff members.
We are so grateful to any time someone is willing to dedicate to our agency and clients!
