VOLUNTEER TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

New Directions Center offers a variety of programs and services that aim to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence and help facilitate their healing process as well as educating the community on the prevalent issue of sexual, emotional, and physical violence. 

 

Below is a list of support services we can offer survivors of violence, whether it be counseling, emergency shelter, court advocacy or any other service you might need, we are here to help. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about our programs and services or are interested in utilizing our services. If you are interested in making a counseling appointment, please call 540-885-7273 ext. 102

 

If you are in a crisis situation and need emergency shelter, please call our hotline at 540-886-6800.

 

If you are in serious immediate danger, please call 911.

Support groups for survivors of violence

Emergency shelter at a safe, confidential location

Emergency transportation, food, and clothing for victims of violence

Crisis intervention & safety planning

Information & referral to additional community resources

Individual case management and goal-setting sessions

Emergency medical accompaniment

Food pantry and clothing closet for clients

Children's services

Spanish & Russian interpreting services available

COMMUNITY OUTREACH:

 

New Directions Center, Inc. is dedicated to outreach and education concerning sexual, emotional, and physical violence. Educational presentations are available free of charge to members of the community, schools, civic organizations, service providers, faith communities, and workplaces upon request. Presentations can be customized to fit the needs and interests of the participants.

 

We provide presentations on the following subjects:
